TOGETHER: An Open Floor Movement Lab Exploring the Dance of Towards and Away
Social support is the most powerful protection against becoming overwhelmed by stress and trauma. The critical issue is reciprocity: being truly heard and seen by the people around us, feeling that we are held in someone else’s mind and heart. —Bessel A. van der Kolk
What do we need in order to gather again? What do you need in order to feel seen, nourished, and met?
In this Open Floor Movement Lab, we will focus our attention on how it is to move towards each other. What sensations come up? Where is it comfortable and where do I feel stretched? What am I longing for in connection with others? What blocks my way? Each week, we will dive deep—taking time to be together, tend to our nervous systems, and investigate the dance of towards and away. With our humor and humanity, we will practice the art of witnessing, listening, and expressing ourselves through movement, welcoming in what arises. Wherever your comfort level is in relating to other humans, you are welcome. The only pace at which you’ll need to go is your own.
